Sessions and billing

You pay for coaching, not for seats. What one coaching session is, what it costs, the two ways to pay, and what happens when your sessions run out.

You pay for coaching, not for seats. Adding a person costs nothing, and most of what the app does costs nothing either.

What one session is

A coaching session is one press of a button that asks the coach to do a named piece of work: talking a piece through with you, or reading one back to you. It is charged when you press, not when you like the answer.

Free, and staying free:

  • every reply inside a conversation you already started, however long it runs
  • ideas, question cards, starters and topic suggestions
  • planning, the calendar, campaigns, wins, posting, and the rest of the app
  • a cheat, which spends its own small monthly allowance instead

Two details worth knowing precisely. A review and the edit you take from it are one session and not two, because they are one read of one text: pressing review again on words you have not changed costs nothing, and a review of text you have changed is a new read. And if the coach’s first reply never arrives, the session is given straight back and the conversation is erased, so a failure is free.

Free while you are small

While an organisation is five people or fewer, sessions are not billed at all. No card to start, no trial clock, nothing switched off. Growing past that never stops anybody joining, it only means sessions start counting.

Two ways to pay

Both sit under Settings → Organisation → Billing, both can be open at once, and moving between them is one press. Sessions you already bought are never lost by switching.

  • Buy sessions up front: 90 cents a session, any whole number of them, and they never expire.
  • Pay as you go: 1 euro a session, invoiced monthly for what you actually used. A quiet month invoices nothing.

Prices are net, and VAT is added at checkout. You can pay in your own currency in most countries, at Stripe’s rate and with its conversion fee, and paying in euros is always possible.

We are in beta, so the price can change. If it does we write to you 30 days before, it takes effect from your next billing period, and sessions you have already bought keep the price you paid.

Running out

Prepaid sessions do not quietly spill over into pay as you go. At zero the coach stops starting new sessions and says so. Admins hear about it first, at 20%, 10% and 5% of the last top-up.

A conversation already open is not cut off, because the turns inside it are free. Nothing you wrote moves, and topping up, or switching to pay as you go if that is set up, picks it straight back up.

Who looks after it

An admin. Organisation settings are an admin menu, and buying sessions, switching how you pay and changing the card are all admin presses. Everyone in the organisation can see how many sessions it used this month.

Invoices, the billing address, the VAT id, the card and cancelling pay as you go live in the billing portal, one link away in the same panel.

A session you spent is not refunded, which is why the button says “one coaching session” before you press it.
