A writing coach
for corporate influencers.

Your team already has things to say, they just don't know how. Our coach helps you stay consistent, find stories worth sharing and makes YOU the writer.

Built by Swat.io the team behind social media for 1,700+ brands.

Homebase in thestory.run: the week's posting pace at one of two, a coach's note about a new campaign, and the week laid out with Monday posted and Thursday ready to go.

For everyone whose job quietly includes LinkedIn. Start on your own, bring the team when you're ready.

We stopped writing.

“Why would I write if AI can do it for me?”

AI slop is real

81% of long-form posts on LinkedIn are likely AI-written. The personality is gone, even when the AI ‘has your voice’.

Too busy to think

It's not that you have nothing to say. It's that nobody asked you the right question about it.

People use AI wrong

Let it write for you, and you slowly lose your own voice, and the ability to put a thought into words.

This is how writing goes from something you liked to one more task to get over with...

What we believe

AI is here to support humans, not replace them.

So why use it to write, while we slowly lose the skill?

Leave the edits to AI. You be the superstar.

stay curious, stay sharp, stay you

Read the manifestowritten 100% by a human

Stop editing the machine.

Most tools make you the machine's editor, endlessly correcting someone else's work. This one makes you the writer.

When AI writes your posts

“90% of what AI writes, I rewrite it, because it's not how I would write.”a tester, on writing with AI today

When you write with the coach

“Wow, I kinda wrote it in one breath. I didn't know I can do that.”the founder, after her first coached draft

And it sounds like you, because you wrote it.

A coach that helps you through it all

One real session, from a messy thought to a finished post.

You drop in the raw thoughts, and the coach helps you uncover the story behind them, making the point you don't see yet.

The same session, as text

You
A lot of teams confuse "doing a lot" with progress
Coach
That's an interesting observation, I bet you've watched it play out somewhere specific. What did that look like?
You
I noticed that each time there's a lot of momentum, new projects, initiatives, everybody busy, and nobody can say what we decided
Coach
There's something honest in that, it's the question most people don't ask out loud in the room.

Once your thoughts are out, the coach lays out the arc that helps you tell the story.

The same session, as text

You
defining goal is tough, it's about making a decision and that's the hard part, because you have to say no

The arc the coach lays out

  1. Open on the moment the room where everyone says "we're making progress", and your quiet "but are you, really?"
  2. Name what's really going on momentum as a hiding place, the "at least we're trying" when things are unclear
  3. The pivot defining a goal means saying no, and that's the scary decision teams avoid

Then you write it, and the coach turns editor: it marks what carries the post and what to try.

The post you write

Defining a goal requires making a decision. And a good decision means saying no to something.

Not deciding...is an unspoken decision.

So remember this: without a destination, motion is just motion

Being busy isn't wrong. But sometimes it's a symptom of an unmade decision.

What the coach marks, and why

Keep · your spine
The whole post in six words. Let it stand.
Move · your opener
Sharper than the meeting scene. Open on it.

The coach moves your opener to the top, reversibly. 100% you · 0% coach

And between the posts, it keeps the week moving.

So you never have to guess what to do next.

See everything that's inside

We bring the fun back to writing.

  • That's really cool, writing with the coach feels like a therapy.
  • This tool makes me want to write again, cause I really used to love writing, but now with AI we lost the ability to do anything.
  • This is so different to any other product I know, it feels like writing in a notebook, which I really love, it helps me think better.
  • I am really having fun.
  • I love the coach already, the conversation style is how I like to think, one step at a time. It feels very natural.
  • I love that the coach helps me find the substance, because I don't want to post just some blah blah, I want something that has a real message.
  • I feel like I don't have the capacity to think freely, I don't have the time, so having guidance from the coach is actually amazing.

For teams

Corporate influencing is a team sport.

Most people start alone. Corporate influencing really works when the whole company shows up on the same theme.

Your team sees who's posting, on which theme, and what's still uncovered. Your drafts, your ideas and your conversations with the coach stay yours. Not your teammates, not your admin, not your boss.

showing up, not showing off

An admin sets a theme and a window: a hiring push, a launch, a conference. The coach folds it into everyone's week as something to draw on. Nobody gets handed a post to write.

Questions

What is thestory.run?

thestory.run is a web app that coaches employees to write their own LinkedIn posts. The coach asks questions, helps you find the story inside a rough thought, and hands you a structure to write into. It never writes the post, and it never rewrites your words. It is not an employee advocacy platform and not an AI ghostwriter: what you publish is what you wrote. Built by Swat.io GmbH in Vienna, Austria.Except cheat-mode, which you spend deliberately: a small monthly allowance to have the coach write one post, marked permanently as coach-written.

Does thestory.run write LinkedIn posts for me?

No, with one exception you have to reach for on purpose. thestory.run is the writing tool that refuses to write: the coach asks one question at a time, underlines the strong lines you already wrote, and offers a structure to write into. Every word you publish is a word you wrote. The exception is cheat-mode, a small monthly allowance you can spend to have the coach write one post for you. It marks that post permanently as coach-written and it does not count toward your progress.

What is cheat-mode?

Cheat-mode is the one place thestory.run writes a post for you. You activate it yourself on a piece you have already started, and the coach writes it from what you brought: your rough thought, your conversation, the lines you kept, the arc you agreed on, and a few of your own published posts so it can hear how you write. It spends one of a small monthly allowance, one cheat for every four posts in your plan, never more than three a month. The post is marked permanently as coach-written and does not count toward your progress.

Who is thestory.run for?

thestory.run is for people who post under their own name at work, sometimes called corporate influencers: founders, salespeople, recruiters, engineers and experts. You can start on your own and bring your team when you are ready.

How much does thestory.run cost?

thestory.run is free forever for teams of five people or fewer, with no credit card and no trial clock. From the sixth person you pay 1 euro per coaching session plus tax, and nothing else. People, channels and every feature are always included.

Can I pay in dollars, or another currency?

Prices are in euros, and at checkout you can pay in your own currency instead, in over 150 countries. Stripe does the conversion at its own rate, which carries a small currency fee, and paying in euros is always an option if you would rather avoid it.

Does thestory.run post to LinkedIn for me?

Only if you ask it to, on a post you have already written and read. thestory.run never writes the text and never publishes anything you have not pressed the button on. You can also publish by hand and simply tell the app it happened.

Can my manager or an admin read my drafts?

No. In thestory.run your ideas, drafts, coach conversations and personal plan are private, and that is enforced in the data layer rather than hidden in the interface. Teammates see coordination only: who is posting on which topic, on which day, and the wins a person chose to share.

How is thestory.run different from an employee advocacy platform?

An employee advocacy platform hands employees a pre-written post to reshare, so every share sounds like the marketing department. thestory.run hands nobody any words. It coaches each person to write their own post in their own voice, and teams coordinate through shared topics and a calendar instead of a content queue.

Built by

Swat.io

Fifteen years, fifty people, no investors. Swat.io is the social media management tool more than 18,000 people use to run their companies' channels: one calendar for everything that goes out, one inbox for everything that comes back, and reporting that does not need a spreadsheet.

Corporate influencing runs in there too, next to the company's own posts rather than in a separate tool. The team plans and publishes in Swat.io and answers the comments in Swat.io. thestory.run is the other half: the coach that helps a person find and write the post in the first place.
