How a piece moves

A piece of writing is one thing with one history, moving through stages:

1. Idea: raw text you captured. Lives on the Ideas board.
2. Draft: you’ve started working it with the coach.
3. Ready: finished, waiting for its day.
4. Posted: you published it and told us so.

There are no separate “ideas” and “posts” to keep in sync. Working an idea moves that same piece forward; it does not copy it somewhere else.

Its whole history stays

Every coach conversation about a piece stays attached to it. Reopen it a month later and the thread is right there, including after it’s been posted.

Going backwards is fine

A ready piece can move back to drafts. A draft that isn’t going anywhere can drop back to a raw idea. Even marking something posted is reversible: “Not actually posted” puts the piece back in Ready and clears the publishing facts, for the common case where you ticked it and then didn’t publish after all.

What that cannot undo is a post that really went out. Putting the piece back here changes your records, not LinkedIn.
